The film Jeanne du Barry opens Cannes Film FestivalEl film Jeanne du Barry abre el Festival de Cine de Cannes

The 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival arrives on 16 May, with all the glitz and glamour it always sports. The festival kicks off with the premiere of Jeanne du Barry, a period drama starring Johnny Depp as Louis XV. We are proud to have played our part in this project.

Actress and director Maïwenn also plays Jeanne du Barry, a courtesan who tries to climb the social ladder in Versailles, becoming one of the king’s favourites. It also features actors Benjamin Lavernhe, Pierre Richard, Noémie Lvovsky, India Hair and Melvil Poupaud.

The film is the subject of great expectation due to its large budget, the liberties taken by the director in her treatment of the period and, above all, Johnny Depp’s return to the limelight.

Cannes is a celebration of cinematic art, showcasing the best of the industry from around the world. This year’s line-up promises to be as exciting as ever, and we’ll be keeping an eye on the films on show from 16-27 May to find out who the winners will be.
