Die Kaiserine tells the years of Elisabeth’s arrival at Vienna and her passionate love with her husband Emperor Franz, as she struggles with the political and familial tensions of the imperial court.
Well known and loved by her people, Sissi was a well-travelled woman with an exciting and tragic life.
Florian Cossen and Katrin Gebbe co-direct this German production, which stars a fantastic Devrim Lingnau as Sissi and Philip Froissant as Franz Joseph.
We highlight the incredible work of the costume designer Gabriela Reumer and Odile Hautmulle from the costume department in recreating late 19th century Vienna. Peris is proud to have worked with them and to be able to see several of our pieces in this series. We cannot but recommend the show!
