The Palace premieres at the Venice Film Festival in the out-of-competition section

The 80th edition of the festival will go ahead despite the strike, although fewer Hollywood celebrities will be in attendance; an increase in European and Asian titles is also expected in all sections.

The announcement of the full programme is scheduled for the morning of 25 July 2023.

In the Out of Competition section, director Roman Polanski’s The Palace will premiere. A drama set on New Year’s Eve 1999 in a five-star Swiss luxury hotel, where the lives of the hotel staff and several guests intersect.

Featuring an all-star cast: Fanny Ardant, Mickey Rourke, Joaquim de Almeida, Alexander Petrov, Fortunato Cerlino and more.

Costume designer: Carlo Poggioli
