The popular series is off to a spectacular start, exploring the romance between Colin and Penelope.
We at Peris Costumes are proud and grateful to have contributed to this project. Costume designers Dougie Hawkes (men’s costumes) and John Glaser (women’s costumes) have done an exceptional job.
Glaser wanted to create a new feminine silhouette for Penelope that flattered her figure. He said, “Our mission was to show her body, rather than try to hide it with the regency line. We wanted to show that she is not a girl, she is a woman.
Hawkes added: “It’s an honor to work on a series that celebrates fashion and diversity. My goal is for each outfit to not only be beautiful, but to tell a story and contribute to Bridgerton’s visual narrative. I hope viewers enjoy these details as much as we enjoyed creating them.
Season three opens with a heartbroken Penelope (Nicola Coughlan), who has just returned from the field after hearing Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) tell her friends in the previous season that he would never court her. To make matters worse, she’s not talking to her best friend Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), who discovered Penelope’s secret identity as Lady Whistledown last season.
A new installment that we are sure will not disappoint.
