Finally, we have news of Ridley Scott’s long-awaited new historical film Napoleon. There is a definite release date: 14 April 2023, on Apple TV+. Various images of the filming that have been leaked give an idea of the size of the production.

The Apple Studios film – previously titled Kitbag – will tell the story of the emperor’s rise and fall, emphasizing on his stormy and passionate relationship with Josephine, his great love. In the process, he will drag France and all of Europe down with him. Expect breathtaking scenes and battles, as well as a more intimate and personal view of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Oscar-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix will play the French emperor, while Vanessa Kirby will play Empress Josephine.
