2022 has undoubtedly been a great year for Spanish cinema, and next year’s Goya Awards have already chosen the most outstanding. The nominations for Best Costume Design have been announced – the category that concerns us most in this wonderful industry – and we are pleased to have worked with most of the nominated costume designers. The list is:
-Paola Torres for As bestas
-Nerea Torrijos for Irati
-Suevia Sampelayo for La Piedad
-Alberto Valcárcel for Los renglones torcidos de Dios (God’s crooked lines)
-Cristina Rodríguez for Malnazidos
-Fernando García for Modelo 77
Among them, we have had the pleasure of working with the costume designers of Irati, Modelo 77, Malnazidos and La piedad: 3 of them period films -one from the High Middle Ages, another from the 80s and another from the Spanish Civil War-, and a contemporary one with a very special aesthetic.
From Peris Costumes we want to congratulate the nominees and, although only one of them can win the award, the great work of all of them has already been recognized with this nomination for the prestigious Goya awards. Good luck to all of them!
