Costume designer Elda Noriega prepares the costumes at Peris for Calderón de la Barca’s El Alcalde de Zalamea.

As part of the Ibero-American Festival of the Golden Age organized by the Community of Madrid from June 14 to July 7 comes the premiere of “El Alcalde de Zalamea” by Calderón de la Barca.

On June 14, the premiere of this play will take place at the Teatro Salón Cervantes, built by the Sociedad de Condueños in the Convent of Capuchino in the 19th century in Alcalá de Henares.

The play begins with the Spanish troops arriving in Zalamea on their way to Portugal in the 16th century. A period drama produced for Teatros del Canal with the support of the Ibero-American Fund of the Golden Age – Clásicos de Alcalá. With the collaboration of the Centro Cultural Eduardo Urculo of Madrid and Centro Cultural Paco Rabal of Madrid.
