Yvonne Blake’s design and Angela Molina’s performance in Bearn represent an iconic moment for film and fashion lovers. We are honoured that it has been given the place it deserves in this exhibition.
We thank Esperanza Claver, Lavinia Mayer and the entire Caixa Forum team who have worked for almost 3 years preparing this project. Their dedication and passion have been fundamental, they have spared no effort to achieve the goal of presenting these pieces, masterpieces of cinematography and fashion.
The exhibition is a particular vision of Jean Paul Gaultier, a film lover since his adolescence and reflects his deep appreciation for fashion on the big screen. “When I saw Falbalás when I was 13 years old, I was struck by the costumes, the lighting and those actresses…. I decided I wanted to go into fashion. Fashion is my life and I learned it from the films”, exclaimed the designer.
A fascinating journey through the intersection of photographs, videos and costumes selected by the designer that marked the history of cinema. Cinema and Fashion by Jean Paul Gaultier will be available to the public until 7 January 2024
