Peris Costumes is honored to be part of Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi’s new film project, La bola negra, with costume design by costume designer Ana López Cobos. This production marks the return of Los Javis to cinema, after several years of success in the universe of series, and does so with a story freely inspired by an unfinished work by Federico García Lorca.
Far from being a conventional adaptation, La bola negra explores what it has meant to be a queer person at three different moments in history, also relying on the theatrical text La piedra oscura, by Alberto Conejero, winner of the National Prize for Dramatic Literature. The film is backed by Movistar Plus+ and was presented in society at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, confirming its international ambition.
With a first-rate cast -Guitarricadelafuente, Carlos González and Miguel Bernardeau in the leading roles, and the outstanding participation of Lola Dueñas and Penélope Cruz- La bola negra is shaping up to be a milestone in the career of Los Javis. Eight years after their first feature film, La llamada, and with part of the creative team that made La mesías an unforgettable series, this new film promises to consolidate their unique voice in the audiovisual panorama.
