Thierry Delettre wins the César Award for Best Costume Design for The Count of Monte Cristo

Costume designer Thierry Delettre has won the César Award for Best Costume Design for his spectacular work on The Count of Monte Cristo. This ambitious blockbuster not only conquered the French box office with more than 10 million admissions, but also shone at the gala with 14 nominations.

Despite expectations, the film only won two technical awards: Best Production Design and Best Costume Design, leaving many surprised by the lack of further recognition. Nevertheless, Delettre’s work has been widely praised, establishing itself as a benchmark in the recreation of period fashion for the big screen.

From Peris Costumes, we are happy and grateful to have provided costumes and new garments to this project, contributing to bring to life the impressive historical setting of the film. The costumes for The Count of Monte Cristo transport the viewer to the elegance of the 19th century, with meticulously designed costumes that reflect the evolution of the characters and the richness of the story.

Its triumph at the César Awards reaffirms the importance of costumes in cinematographic narrative and the visual impact of major productions. At Peris Costumes, we are proud to be part of projects of this magnitude, where the art of costume plays a key role in the magic of cinema.
