The premiere of the new fairy tale “Das Märchen von der Zauberflöte” (WDR/ARD), the 56th fable in the ARD series, is scheduled for 25 December.
The adaptation is based on Christoph Martin Wieland’s “Lulu and the Magic Flute” and Emanuel Schikaneder’s plot from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera.

The main roles are played by Jessica Schwarz as the Queen of the Night, Waldemar Kobus, Harriet Herbig-Matten, Ilyes Raoul, Dimitri Abold and Michael Kessler, among others. The director is Marvin Litwak. The production is accompanied musically by the WDR Funkhaus Orchestra.
