The film Tal vez, written and directed by Arima León, will be released in cinemas on 8th May. The film stars Adriana Ugarte and Tania Santana, who bring to life two women who played an essential role in Spain’s recent history: the legendary international trapeze artist Pinito del Oro and the poet Natalia Sosa.
Through meticulous research that included access to the actual correspondence the two exchanged over the years, Arima León imagines the intimate and profound story that may have united them. The cast is rounded out by Salva Reina and Antonia San Juan. Set in 1968, the film takes place at a time when Pinito del Oro, the world-famous star of the Circo Price, is preparing for her last performance while searching for the right person to write her memoirs. Canarian poet Natalia Sosa, an artist of enormous talent whose voice was silenced because of her ideology and sexuality, becomes her ideal candidate. An intense connection develops between the two women, arousing suspicion and ultimately leading to their separation, but their bond will endure for decades through letters that defy the restrictions of the time.
