RTVE has finally confirmed the premiere date for Ena, its major new historical drama described by the corporation as a “period super-production.”
Created by Javier Olivares (The Ministry of Time, Isabel) and based on Pilar Eyre’s novel of the same name, the series will debut on La 1 on Monday, November 24.
With costume design by Zulma Velázquez, the six-episode drama follows the life of Victoria Eugenia of Battenberg, portrayed by Kimberley Tell, a modern queen ahead of her time.
The cast also includes Joan Amargós as King Alfonso XIII, along with Elvira Mínguez, Lucía Guerrero, Raúl Mérida, Juan Gea, and Luisa Gavasa, among others.
A heartbreaking story based on the life of Victoria Eugenia, despised by her husband, ignored by her subjects, and punished by her children.
