Peris Costumes provides the costumes for THE WITNESS, a new limited true crime drama produced by STV, with a companion documentary set to be released on Netflix.
The series tells the true story of Alex and André Hanscombe in the aftermath of the 1992 murder of Rachel Nickell on Wimbledon Common, a case that shocked the United Kingdom. Overnight, André became a single parent to a deeply traumatised child who was also the sole eyewitness to the attack. Amid intense media scrutiny and a high-pressure police investigation, he devoted himself entirely to his son’s emotional survival.
Costume design is by Mekel Bailey, whose work plays a crucial role in authentically recreating the period and supporting the emotional realism of the story.
