Renowned Spanish filmmaker Rodrigo Sorogoyen, director of acclaimed titles such as As bestas, El reino and Que Dios nos perdone, is preparing the release of his new feature film, El ser querido, an original production for Movistar Plus+that will arrive in Spanish cinemas soon.
The film, Sorogoyen’s seventh feature as a solo director, stars Javier Bardem and Victoria Luengo, with costume design by Saioa Lara.
Peris Costumes took part in this project in a very special way, collaborating in the development of the film’s visual world and wardrobe.
Written by Sorogoyen together with his long-time collaborator Isabel Peña, El ser querido continues the director’s exploration of complex emotional relationships and the subtle tensions that define personal bonds.
The story begins with a powerful reunion: a father and daughter who have not seen each other for thirteen years meet face to face in a restaurant. He is Esteban, a renowned film director. She is Emilia, an actress who grew up far from his embrace.
The film is already generating strong anticipation within the industry and is expected to compete at the upcoming Festival de Cannes, whose official selection will be announced on April 9.
