In addition to the documentary about Rachel Nickell’s murder, Netflix is developing The Witness, a three-episode drama series that will explore the story from the perspective of her partner, André Hanscombe, and her son, Alex, who witnessed the attack.
Actor Jordan Bolger will play André, while Max Fincham will play Alex as a teenager. Both André and Alex have been involved as consultants on the production to ensure an accurate portrayal of their story.
Filming on The Witness began in August 2024 on location in London and Spain. Costume design is being handled by Mekel Bailey, who will bring his expertise to accurately recreate the era and tone of the series.
With this new project, Netflix continues to explore the impact of one of the UK’s most shocking crimes, combining elements of drama and historical reconstruction to offer an in-depth look at the events and their aftermath.
