La bola negra, the new feature film directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, will be released in cinemas on October 2, distributed by Elastica Films. The film marks Los Javis’ return to feature filmmaking following the international success of La Mesías.
The project is an original production by Movistar Plus+ and Suma Content Films, co-produced with El Deseo and the French company Le Pacte, with the participation of Atresmedia. International sales are handled by Goodfellas.
Conceived as an ambitious ensemble film, La bola negra brings together major international stars and emerging new talent. The cast includes Penélope Cruz, Glenn Close, Lola Dueñas, Miguel Bernardeau, Carlos González, and Guitarricadelafuente, making his acting debut. They are joined by Milo Quifes, in his first screen role, and Albert Pla.
Costume design is by Ana López Cobos, whose work plays a key role in shaping the film’s visual identity.
