The film Eterno Visionario, directed by Michele Placido, explores the complex personal and artistic life of Luigi Pirandello through the figures of his wife, Antonietta Portulano, and his inspirational muse, Marta Abba.
This production, presented at the Rome Film Festival 2024, is now in cinemas in Italy.
It immerses us in the relationship between Pirandello and the women who marked his life: his wife, whose fragile mental health profoundly affected his existence, and Abba, the young actress who became his artistic companion and inspiration.
With costume design created by Andrea Cavalleto, the Peris Costumes team has worked closely together to help recreate the era and capture the essence of each character through garments that reflect both early 20th century Italy and the intensity of the emotional bonds.
