OneGate Media has announced that it will handle the international distribution of the new historical feature film A Christmas Miracle – by Johann Sebastian Bach, a production of EIKON Media in collaboration with ARD Degeto, MDR, BR and ORF. This Christmas biopic follows the story of the creation of the Christmas Oratorio in 1734, a masterpiece by the celebrated German composer.
Directed by Florian Baxmeyer, known for his acclaimed career in film and television, the film captures Bach’s personal and professional challenges as he navigates family tensions and the restrictions of the Leipzig city council. The plot intensifies with the disappearance of his son Gottfried, adding an emotional charge to this tale of ambition and family reconciliation.
The leading roles are played by Devid Striesow as Johann Sebastian Bach, and Verena Altenberger as Anna Magdalena Bach, both renowned performers in German film and television. The film promises a visual and emotional immersion into the life of one of history’s most influential composers.
Victoria Albert has been responsible for bringing this story to life through costume design, accurately recreating period costumes to enhance the authenticity and drama of the production.
