The feature film Mi ilustrísimo amigo, directed by Paula Cons and written by Javier Pascual, has won the award for Best Film at the Berlin Women Cinema Festival. The film, which features costumes designed by Fede Pouso with a careful selection of Peris Costumes stock, stands out for its period setting and its aesthetic sensibility.
Based on real events, the film recreates the intense and secret relationship between Emilia Pardo Bazán and Benito Pérez Galdós, two essential figures of Spanish literature. Their love story, told largely through letters and discreet meetings, defied the social norms of their time.
Starring Lucía Veiga – nominated for a Goya for Best New Actress for Nevenka – in the role of Pardo Bazán, and Paco Déniz as Galdós, Mi ilustrísimo amigo is the first feature-length fiction film focusing on the life of the Gran Canarian writer.
We are proud to have contributed to bring to life this story of freedom, love and literature, through a wardrobe that respects the essence and historical context of its protagonists.
