Written and directed by Hagai Levi (In Treatment) and featuring costume design by Gioia Raspe, Etty is co-produced with ARTE France and Quiddity and distributed internationally by STUDIO TF1.
Produced by Yael Fogiel for Les Films du Poisson, Jonas Dornbach for Komplizen Serien, and Frans Van Gestel for Topkapi Series, the series explores the extraordinary inner journey of Dutch Jewish writer Etty Hillesum between 1941 and 1943 — a chronicle of profound spiritual awakening in the darkest times.
Told through a bold and unconventional narrative structure, Etty bridges past and present to ask a timeless question: how do we find hope in a hopeless world?
