The shooting of Catedrales has finished in the city of Montevideo. The series, based on the novel of the same name by renowned Argentine writer Claudia Piñeiro, is a production that is part of Peris Latam’s projects.
Directed by Pepa San Martín, Catedrales delves into the emotional and family consequences of a crime that marks all the characters. More than a classic thriller, the series focuses on the psychological impact of murder and the silences, fractures and deep wounds it leaves in a family.
Costume design was the responsibility of costume designer Carolina Dure, with a team including Virginia Zabaleta and Mila Fuster in the costume department.
Part of the process included the selection of costumes at Peris Madrid, with a careful selection of original pieces from the 80s and 90s: with authentic textures and unique details that add depth to the characters and elevate the visual narrative of the series.
More and more major productions are betting on adapting literary works to the screen, and Catedrales is a clear example of the potential of these stories to connect with the audience from an emotional and human point of view.
