Costume designers Juliane Maier and Christian Röhrs have been recognized with the prestigious Best Costume Design Award for their work on the film Cranko, during the recent edition of the Lola German Film Awards.
This award, given by the German Film Academy, celebrates creative excellence in one of the most valued technical sections of cinema. Cranko stands out for its careful period reconstruction, where the costumes play a fundamental role in the setting of the life of the legendary choreographer John Cranko.
The ceremony, held in Berlin, was marked by a clear inclination towards films with social and political content. It was hosted by actor Christian Friedel (The Zone of Interest, The White Lotus), who also surprised the audience by showing his musical talent with his band Woods of Birnam.
