Johnny Depp returns to San Sebastian for the 72nd edition of the festival, three years after receiving the Donostia Award.
His new film, Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness, marks his return as a director since The Brave (1997). The film, set in the turbulent life of the artist Amedeo Modigliani in Paris in 1916, will be presented out of competition and features an international cast headed by Riccardo Scamarcio, Al Pacino and Stephen Graham. Modi will be released in Spain in 2025.

The plot is set in war-torn Paris in 1916 and with great unrest on the streets. Amedeo Modigliani’s turbulent days become a turning point that transforms him from failure to legend.
