The epic series “Those About to Die,” directed by Roland Emmerich and starring Anthony Hopkins as Emperor Vespasian, will be distributed in Central and Eastern Europe by renowned international distributor Eccho Rights. The series, set in ancient Rome and focusing on the fascinating world of the gladiators, features masterful direction by Emmerich, known for his large-scale, historically accurate productions.
Stockholm-based Eccho Rights, owned by German firm Night Train Media, headed by Herbert L. Kloiber, has secured sales rights in the region and will begin promoting the series at the NATPE Budapest market this month. This event is one of the most prominent in the television industry, and the presence of “Those About to Die” promises to be one of the biggest draws.
The 10-episode series will premiere on July 18 on Peacock for U.S. audiences. Notably, it is Peacock’s most ambitious and biggest budget production to date.
At Peris Costumes, we are proud to have collaborated with costume designer Gianni Casalnuovo, who has created a collection of costumes that accurately reflect the opulence and rigor of the Roman era.
We are eager to see how “Those About to Die” will be received by international audiences and are confident that audiences will be captivated by the spectacular recreation of ancient Rome, both in the plot and in the costumes and set design.
