The Festival de Málaga will celebrate its 29th edition from March 6 to 15, once again establishing itself as one of the leading showcases for Spanish-language cinema. This year’s program will feature 263 audiovisual works across its different sections, including feature films, documentaries, short films, TV series, and new formats, as well as a wide range of industry activities, talks with filmmakers, and events for the public.
The festival continues its strong commitment to the diversity of Spanish-language cinema, bringing together productions from different countries and creative perspectives that highlight the richness and vitality of the audiovisual sector.
Among the most anticipated premieres is Mi querida señorita, a new project promoted by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi—known collectively as Los Javis. The film is directed by Fernando González Molina and offers a free reinterpretation of the 1972 Spanish classic Mi querida señorita, an iconic film that was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
With this new edition, the Málaga Film Festival reaffirms its commitment to promoting and showcasing Spanish-language cinema internationally, turning the city into a key meeting point for both the film industry and audiences for ten days.
