HBO takes viewers to a different Westeros with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, set to premiere in early 2026 on HBO Max. The new series promises a radically different experience from the epic battles and political conspiracies that defined Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon.
An Intimate and Dusty Journey
Unlike its predecessors, this new production focuses on the story of two unlikely heroes: Ser Duncan the Tall, portrayed by Peter Claffey, a humble hedge knight known as “Dunk,” and Egg, played by Dexter Sol Ansell, a mysterious bald boy who becomes his squire.
Set decades before the events of Game of Thrones, the series explores a more grounded and personal side of Westeros — filled with dusty roads, tournaments, loyalty, and friendship.
