We are delighted to be able to cooperate with Mario Pontiggia; a professional with a prestigious international background in the world of Opera, where he has developed his career in Artistic Direction at such renowned centers as the Monte Carlo Opera, Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Teatro Massimo (Palermo, Sicily), or The Alfredo Kraus Auditorium (Las Palmas, Canary Islands).
On this opportunity, Pontiggia will be in charge of the stage direction of “Un Ballo In Maschera” by Verdi. The opera will be performed in September celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Association of Friends of the Opera, first among those of its kind in Spain, with a very prolific musical life.
“Un Ballo In Maschera” is an opera in three acts, considered among the landmark works of the author and, under the artistic direction of M. Pontiggia, will be a delight for the lovers of the operatic gender. Its script includes a good dose of theatrical essence in the purest state: authoritarianism; craving for power; jealousy; much love, even of the guilty kind; revenge; high treason and death. These ingredients make Verdi’s “Masquerade Ball” one of his works that most interest the public.
