Aitor Arregi and Jon Garaño to premiere at the Venice Biennale with their film Marco

Aitor Arregi and Jon Garaño’s (‘La Trinchera infinita’, ‘Handia’, ‘Loreak’) new film Marco, inspired by the true story of Enric Marco, who, for years, made people believe that he had been a survivor of a Nazi concentration camp, will premiere in the Orizzonti section of the Venice Biennale.

Costume designer: Saioa Lara

A dramatic thriller inspired by real events. It tells the story of a deportee who never existed, the story of a man who for years kept before public opinion and his family a lie that was hard to imagine: that he had been a prisoner in a Nazi concentration camp. Starring Eduard Fernández, who plays Enric Marco. Alongside him, the actress Nathalie Poza (‘La boda de Rosa’, ‘Mientras dure la guerra’) gives life to Laura, Marco’s wife.

The film is produced by Ander Barinaga-Rementeria, Ander Sagardoy, Xabier Berzosa and Jaime Ortiz de Artiñano, with the participation of the ICAA, the Basque Government, Atresmedia Cine, Movistar Plus+ and EITB. Bteam Pictures is distributing the film in Spain and international sales are handled by Film Factory.
