XIII 2018 ROSER AWARDS WITH PERIS COSTUMES

We are very honored to inform you all that every single movie that was nominated to the XIII 2018 Roser Awards (Spanish movies released between January and September) for Best Costume Design have worked with costumes from our stock. This is possible thanks to the trustworthy relationships that we have built with costume designers such as Sonia Grande, Tatiana Hernández, Nerea Torrijos y Lena Mossum. We are grateful for the trust they put into our team and our costumes.

Best Costume Design:

Sonia Grande « Todos lo saben » [Everybody Knows]
Tatiana Hernández « Yucatán » [Yucatán]
Nerea Torrijos « Errementari (El herrero y el diablo) » ) » [Errementari: The Blacksmith and the Devil]
Lena Mossum « El hombre que mató a Don Quijote” (GANADORA) ” [The man who killed Don Quixote] (WINNER)

This time the award for best Costume Design went to “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote”  by Lena Mossum. Plenty of the costumes sent for the shooting of this movie were crafted by our saddlery experts at Peris.

One example is one of the helmets. The part where the back of the neck is located was shaped using an original helmet from the Roman Empire.

At the beginning, the horns were supposed to be authentic, however they were so heavy that they it was impossible to shoot the scenes using them. For this reason, several replicas were created (as you can see in the image below) using fiber instead.

The body was made using pieces that Estrella and Fernando, our craftspeople, were cutting into very small pieces that are riveted to black leather.
